On May 18, 1926 Robert Limbert and fifteen men and women set off from Boise to begin a 10-day expedition into the southern half of Craters of the Moon National Monument in search of the mythical Lost Valley. Since 1861 when George Goodhart, a messenger for the American Fur Company, was taken blind folded into the secret hiding place of the Shoshone-Bannock Indian tribes, men have attempted to find this valley hidden amongst the vast lava flows of central Idaho.
Limbert succeeded in finding this valley, but after his sudden death in 1933, the location of the valley and of its secrets laid hidden.
Based on Limbert's recently discovered coordinates, a photo album and a diary of the expedition, the valley has been relocated after 80 years and the film tells the story of the history of this mysterious valley and the quest to find it.
