My name is Steve Wursta and I am the founder of Arctic Circle Productions. I live and work in Bend, Oregon with my wife Dara and our yellow lab Lewis.

I began my career in Washington, D.C. as a photo editor for the Knight-Ridder Tribune News Service and later as a photographer and photo editor for United Press International. (My first day of work for UPI was covering President Clinton’s inauguration and I spent the next four traveling on Air Force One as part the Tight Travel Pool).

In 1996 I left United Press International to form Arctic Circle Productions to produce a multimedia travel magazine (Since multimedia CD-ROMs were the way of the future...) In 1998, I released the first edition of PASSAGES, which explored the history and culture of Cheyenne, Wyoming. A city which is synonymous for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. The 350 page-multimedia CD-ROM magazine was showcased by the desktop publishing software website of Quark, Inc.

In 1998 I co-authored the photography book “Washington, City on a Hill” with Washington Post writer Bob Levey. In the processes I collected over 14,000 images for the initial edit.

I have also worked as a videographer and video editor for the Office of Naval Research in Northern Virginia and as Webmaster and IT manager for the Association of America's Public Television Stations in Washington, DC.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Master of Fine Art in photojournalism from Ohio University and is a nationally certified firefighter/paramedic.

Among the Craters of the Moon is my first feature-length film.
